To add my two cents: a key difference I've personally noticed between INFP 9s and INFP 4s is that when upset, the 9 will try to avoid conflict and expressing negative emotions at all costs by getting away from whatever the distresser is and burying their sadness (or other negative emotions) by quickly moving on to some pleasant activity, whereas the 4 needs to let their emotions out and fully feel and experience them in order to understand them. The INFP 9's top priority is feeling better as quickly as possible, and the INFP 4's top priority is processing what they're feeling.
