Reading the book right now and I think he's an INFJ. He seems to have a very strong Fi.

. I don't see the Fe. I'd also like to point out that, as an INFJ, I have no idea why this is one of the top votes on here. INFJ/ENFJ bothe have Se, and a more realistic in a "the past is the past" kind of way, wheread NFPs with Si can get much more nostalgic about the past. He has literally built his entire life on what could be in the future. I guess I could see so/sp as well.

. He's obviously P because he's very spontaneous (like showing up at Nick's house and saying "hey we're going to lunch right now"). He loves Daisy but he's selfish and expects her to have the same feelings as him. It's very evident that he is an Fi because I knows exactly what he wants but doesn't always see how he is affecting others. I kind of find it funny how there's no consensus at all on the instinctual variants, so I'll just make an argument for sp/so: Gatsby tries to impress others using physical, material objects; the grandness of his home, his extensive library, etc. Jung theorized that the dominant function acts alone in its preferred world: exterior for extraverts and interior for introverts.. The introversion/extroversion is not a huge difference, but I think it's still apparent that he is introverted.
